How to Hide Your SSID

Hiding you SSID (secure service identification) is one of the best solution to secure your wireless network so that sniffers will not scan your wireless networks name.

First open up your browser to go to your routers setup and type in 192.168.1.1 and then log in using the username and password of your router.

Ones you are in your router go to Wireless tab, and take note of the SSID name and then disable the SSID broadcast and then save settings.

To view and connect to your wireless network click on the signal button in the task bar, and click on the other network and click connect. and then type in the SSID.

Now if anyone wants to connect to your wireless network, they should know the name of your SSID, otherwise they can not connect.
